Monster Hunter Stories 3DS Game's English Trailer Reveals September 8 Release

Game debuted in Japan last October with tie-in anime

Nintendo began streaming a trailer on Monday for its English release of Capcom's Monster Hunter Stories Nintendo 3DS game. The trailer reveals the game's September 8 release date.

The game, which is the first RPG for the Monster Hunter franchise, shipped in Japan last October.

In the game's story, in a certain village of Riders, children start their adventure with a game of "Egg Hunting Tag." The protagonist, Lilia, and Shuval go into the forest and discover a monster egg, and the egg hatches. Through this meeting, the monster awakens, and the three friends each start to walk on their own separate paths.

The Monster Hunter Stories Ride On tie-in anime premiered in Japan last October. Crunchyroll is streaming the ongoing series with English subtitles as it airs and Funimation is streaming an English dub.

Capcom is also developing Monster Hunter: World, the newest installment in the franchise. The game is slated for early 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a PC release to follow.
