Sega Announces Yakuza Online Game For iOS, Android, PC in 2018

Sega announced during a livestream event on Saturday that it is developing a Ryū ga Gotoku Online (Yakuza Online) video game. The game will feature the new protagonist Ichiban Kasuga. The game will launch for iOS and Android devices and PC in 2018.

Sega will also release Yakuza 6: The Song of Life (Ryū ga Gotoku 6: Inochi no Uta) in the West on PlayStation 4. The game is the first mainline release in the franchise that will keep the subtitle in the English title of the game. Sega will release the game in the West in early 2018. The game shipped on the PS4 in Japan in December 2016.

The latest game in the series, Yakuza Kiwami, shipped in Japan on January 21 for the PS3 and the PS4. The game is a full remake of the original Yakuza (Ryū ga Gotoku) game. Sega will release the game in North America and Europe on August 29.

Sega also announced Ryū ga Gotoku Kiwami 2 (Yakuza Kiwami 2), a PS4 remake of the Ryū ga Gotoku 2 (Yakuza 2) game, at the event. The game will ship in Japan on December 7.
