English version of tower defense game now available

Avex Pictures and Active Gaming Media released the Osomatsu-san Hesokuri Wars~Battle of the NEETs~ (Osomatsu-san no Hesokuri Wars ~NEET no Kōbō~) smartphone game worldwide with English and Korean language support. The game is available for iOS and Android devices.

The tower defense game is free to play but includes in-app purchases. Active Gaming Media describes the game:

The newly localized Osomatsu-san Hesokuri Wars~Battle of the NEETs~ is a free-to-play tower defense-style smartphone game which follows the six children of the Matsuno family as they try to protect their savings from popular characters such as Iyami, Chibita, Dekapan, and more. Gather more buddies and power-up your characters to protect the family's savings in a game tailored perfectly to the personalities of the six lazy, happy-go-lucky Matsuno children. The game is chock full of brand-new illustrations and characters with totally original outfits as well as level-up and character training elements, and all sorts of special events are scheduled, making it the perfect distraction for both fans of the anime and core gamers alike.

The game launched in Japan for Android on February 9, 2016 and for iOS on March 3, 2016. It is one of eight smartphone games based on the Mr. Ososmatsu anime that have launched or been announced.

The Mr. Osomatsu (Osomatsu-san) anime series premiered in October 2015, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired in Japan. A second season will premiere on October 2. The Osomatsu-san Ouma de Kobanashi special aired in Japan on December 12, and Crunchyroll streamed the anime under the title "Mr. Osomatsu JRA Special 2016." The 24-minute special is part of the "Hashire! Oumatsu-san" collaboration between Mr. Osomatsu and the Japan Racing Association. The collaboration also includes a series of six new anime shorts titled "Mutsugo to Ouma no Monogatari" (The Story of the Sextuplets and a Horse).

Viz Media acquired the digital streaming, electronic sell-through, home video, and merchandise rights for the Mr. Osomatsu anime, including the upcoming second season.
