Tanaka-kun is Always Listless premieres on September 26, The Asterisk War season 2 on September 21

Philippine television channel HERO TV revealed the premiere dates on Friday for its airing of the Tanaka-kun is Always Listless television anime, as well as the second season of The Asterisk War. Tanaka-kun is Always Listless will debut on September 26, while the second season of The Asterisk War will debut on September 21.

HERO TV revealed in April that it will air Tanaka-kun is Always Listless.

Shinya Kawamo (.hack//GIFT, Kokoro Connect, Non Non Biyori) directed the anime at SILVER LINK, and Akemi Omode (Getbackers, Kyo kara Maoh!, Tales of the Abyss) oversaw the scripts. Haruko Iizuka (Umi Monogatari, Ōkami-san & Her Seven Companions, Little Busters!) designed the characters for animation, while KUSANAGI provided the art direction. Hiromi Mizutani (Sunday Without God, Non Non Biyori, Shomin Sample) composed the music. Unlimited tone performed the anime's opening theme song "Utata ne Sunshine" (Snooze Sunshine), and singer/songwriter CooRie performed the anime's ending theme song "BON-BON."

The youth comedy manga follows the ever-listless Tanaka and his taciturn classmate Ohta, who can't leave Tanaka alone.

Nozomi Uda launched the original manga series on the Gangan Online website in 2013, and Square Enix published the manga's eighth compiled volume on April 22. Square Enix will publish the ninth volume on September 22.

The Asterisk War anime is set after an event known as Invertia, a massive meteor shower that results in tragic levels of death and destruction on Earth. However, Invertia also gave rise to new technologies: a hidden element within the meteors leapfrogged human technology, and also gave rise to the "Genestella," humans born with special powers. A massive collection of six schools, situated on an artificial island platform known as Rikka – also known as "The Asterisk" – take in these Genestella and teach them how to use their abilities. Each year they hold annual combat competitions that pits each school's contestants against each other. The story centers on Ayato Amagiri, who attends Seidōkan Academy, one of the Asterisk schools. He is investigating the disappearance of his sister. He meets Julis-Alexia, a princess of a minor European nation that is in the school to earn money for her nation. Together, they train in their powers, and stumble into secret truths about the Asterisk.

The anime adapts Yuu Miyazaki and okiura's light novel series. The first anime premiered in October 2015, and the second premiered in April 2016. HERO TV began airing the first season on August 18.

Manabu Ono (A-Channel, Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere, The irregular at magic high school) served as general director of the series at A-1 Pictures. Kenji Seto (Wooser no Sono Higurashi Kakusei-hen, assistant director on A-Channel and Saki) directed the series, Tetsuya Kawakami (Nanana's Buried Treasure, Robot Girls Z, Shigofumi - Letters from the Departed, Toei Robot Girls) handled the character designs and served as animation director, and Rasmus Faber (Lagrange - The Flower of Rin-ne theme songs) composed the music.
