Japanese television channel MBS opened a website on Saturday to announce that Gō Ōhinata's Medamayaki no Kimi Itsu Tsubusu? (What is your perfect way to eat fried eggs? or lit: When Do You Break the Yolk of an Egg Fried Sunny-Side Up?) manga is getting a live-action series adaptation.
The show will premiere on MBS on November 6 at 12:50 a.m., and will then air on TBS on November 8 at 1:28 a.m. Each episode will be 30 minutes long. The show's episode 0 will stream on the GyaO! streaming service ahead of the television premiere.
Yūdai Yamaguchi is directing the series, and Kenichi Suzuki is writing the script. The show stars:
Sho Aoyagi as Jirō Tamiyamaru
Riko Narumi as Mafuyu
Jiro Sato as Kondō (special appearance)
Other cast members include: Ryohei Otani, Masayasu Yagi, Rena Takeda, Fumiya Endō, Moeka Hoshi, Norihisa Hiranuma, and Shinji Yamashita.
The gourmet manga focuses on the dining of cuisine. The protagonist Jirō Tamiyamaru is more obsessed with how to eat than most people, and the manga comically depicts how he agonizes over the differences with how others eat.
The manga previously inspired a four-episode Flash anime adaptation with live-action segments in August 2014.
The manga launched in Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Beam magazine in 2012, and Kadokawa published the ninth compiled volume on August 25.
