Hayate the Combat Butler's Hata Has Already Drawn 6 Chapters of New Manga Series

Manga creator Kenjirō Hata revealed on Twitter last week that he has already written six chapters of a new manga series. He did not share a title or details on when the manga will debut.

Hata commented on his new manga, "Right now, I read it and it seems interesting, but when everyone else has read it — if they think it is interesting then... I'd be happy."

Hata launched Hayate the Combat Butler in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in 2004, and ended it on April 19. Shogakukan published the final two compiled volumes, the 51st and 52nd, in limited editions with side stories.

The manga has inspired four television anime seasons in 2007, 2009, 2012, and 2013, as well as a three-episode OVA in 2014. The manga also inspired the Hayate the Combat Butler! Heaven Is a Place on Earth anime film in 2011.

Crunchyroll streamed all four series. Bandai Entertainment licensed the first series and released it on DVD in 2009. Sentai Filmworks licensed all four seasons and the film, and released all of them throughout 2015.
