Yoshihide Sasaki will still voice Yukari Mishakuji

The official blog for the stage play adaptation of the K: Missing Kings anime film revealed on Monday that the play's stage combat instructor Satoru Moritoki will replace Yoshihide Sasaki (seen right) in playing the character Yukari Mishakuji.

Sasaki sustained an injury during a performance last Friday. Sasaki will still provide the character's voice, while Moritoki will physically portray the character on stage during the play's Galaxy Theater Tokyo performances from Thursday to Sunday.

Sasaki appeared in crutches during the curtain call of a performance last Saturday and explained his injury.

The play debuted at the Kyoto Theater on October 19-22. The play will also get live viewing screenings at theaters in Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The live viewings will screen on October 29 during the play's final performance.

Kenichi Suemitsu is directing the stage play, and he also wrote the script.

The first stage play, titled Butai K, ran in Tokyo from August through October 2014. The second play, titled K Dai-ni-Shō: Arousal of King, ran in Tokyo and Osaka in August 2015. The third play, K―Lost Small World―, ran in Tokyo in July 2016.

The original 13-episode K television anime series aired in Japan starting in October 2012. The anime inspired the K: Missing Kings sequel film in July 2014, and then the 13-episode K: Return of Kings television anime series premiered in October 2015.

The anime is getting an upcoming six-film theatrical anime project titled K: Seven Stories. The six films will open one each month between July and December 2018.
