Story inspired by novels focuses on Sinanju hijacking

Kouzo Oomori launched the Mobile Suit Gundam UC Bande Dessinée Episode:0 manga in the December issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Gundam Ace magazine on Thursday. The prequel manga is based on the Sengo no Sensō (The Postwar War) short story that appears in the 11th volume of Harutoshi Fukui's original Mobile Suit Gundam UC novels. The story centers on the Neo Zeon remnants' hijacking of the Sinanju Stein mobile suit.

Yoshikazu Yasuhiko is again credited with the original character designs, and Hajime Katoki is credited with mechanical design. The 11th volume of Fukui's Mobile Suit Gundam UC novels, which combines the Sengo no Sensō and Fushichō Kari (Phoenix Hunting) stories, shipped in March 2016.

Oomori began the Mobile Suit Gundam UC Bande Dessinée manga in Monthly Gundam Ace in 2010 and ended it in December. The 17th and final compiled volume shipped in February. Fukui launched the original Mobile Suit Gundam UC novels in 2007 and ended its main story in 2009 with the 10th volume.

The novels also inspired an original video anime (OVA) series with theatrical screenings. The OVAs were later remixed into the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096 television anime.
