6 cast members shown in costume for January play

The official website for the stage play based on ONE's Mob Psycho 100 manga revealed the first round of cast visuals on Monday. The cast visuals feature six cast members in costume.

The cast in costume includes (clockwise from top left):

  • Ryōma Baba as Arataka Reigen
  • Takuya Kawaharada as Teruki Hanazawa
  • Yūta Hoshino as Hikaru Tokugawa
  • Naoya Gōmoto as Musashi Gōda
  • Miyu Suenaga as Ichi Mezato
  • Marina Tanoue as Tome Kurata

Voice actor Setsuo Ito (pictured in costume below) will star in the play as Shigeo "Mob" Kageyama, reprising his role from the manga's television anime adaptation. Keita Kawajiri is directing and writing the script.

Other cast members include:

Takeshi Nadagi as Dimple

Gaku Matsumoto as Ritsu Kageyama

Yūya Kido as Tenga Onigawara

The stage play will run from January 6-14, 2018 at The Galaxy Theater in Tokyo.

The original manga creator ONE (One-Punch Man) launched the Mob Psycho 100 series on Ura Sunday in 2012 and later in Shogakukan's Manga ONE app in 2014. Shogakukan published the manga's 15th compiled book volume on Thursday.

The anime adaptation of ONE's original manga premiered in Japan in July 2016 and Crunchyroll streamed the series with English subtitles as it aired in Japan. Funimation streamed an English dub for the anime last December.

Funimation describes the story:

Kageyama Shigeo (a.k.a. Mob) is an 8th grader with powerful psychic abilities. Workingunder his not-so-capable master, Reigen, Mob uses his powers to exorcise evil spirits. But his will to be normal causes him to suppress his powers and feelings until he hits 100 percent — a point where his pent-up emotions are unleased and a darker power takes over.

The manga is also inspiring a live-action drama starring Tatsuo Hamada in January. TV Tokyo is producing the live-action show in collaboration with Netflix. In addition, the anime will get an event centered on the character Reigen: it will include compilation screenings of the television anime with some new parts.
