Eromanga Sensei Gets Original Video Anime in 2018

Announced at anime's "Eroman Fes" event

The official website for the television anime of Tsukasa Fushimi's Eromanga Sensei light novel series announced on Sunday that production on an original video anime has been green-lit for next year. The announcement came on the day of the anime's "Eroman Fes" event.

The "new sibling romantic comedy" revolves around Masamune Izumi, a light novel author in high school. Masamune's little sister is Sagiri, a shut-in girl who hasn't left her room for an entire year. She even forces her brother to make and bring her meals when she stomps on the floor. Masamune wants his sister to leave her room, because the two of them are each other's only family.

Masamune's novel illustrator, penname "Eromanga Sensei," draws extremely perverted drawings, and is very reliable. Masamune had never met his illustrator, and figured he was just a disgusting, perverted otaku. However, the truth is revealed that his "Eromanga Sensei" is his own younger sister. To add to the chaos that erupts between the siblings, a beautiful, female, best-selling shōjo manga creator becomes their rival.

The television anime aired this past spring, and Aniplex of America streamed it on Crunchyroll, Daisuki, and Amazon's Anime Strike service.

Fushimi launched the light novel series in 2013 after finishing the Oreimo (Ore no Imōto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai) light novel series. As with Oreimo, Hiro Kanzaki draws the illustrations for Eromanga Sensei.
