Capcom announced on Thursday that it will release a Devil May Cry HD Collection set for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in North America on March 13. The set will have both digital and physical editions, and will retail for US$29.99.

The game set includes:

  • Devil May Cry (2001)
  • Devil May Cry 2 (2003)
  • Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition (2006)

The latest game in the series, Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition, launched in June 2015 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game is an updated version of the original 2008 Devil May Cry 4 PC/Xbox 360 game.

Devil May Cry celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2016. The game series has inspired novels, anime, and manga. Sengoku Basara vs. Devil May Cry, the franchise's first stage play adaptation, debuted at the AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo in August 2015.

The franchise inspired the Devil May Cry TV anime series in in 2007. ADV Films originally released the series on home video, and Funimation later picked up the license. Crunchyroll began streaming the anime in June.

Game director and designer Hideaki Itsuno said in January that he hoped to announce a new game this year. Itsuno has directed Devil May Cry 2, Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening, Devil May Cry 4, Dragon's Dogma, and Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen.
