Fate/Grand Order Gets 2 New Year's Eve Anime Shorts

Fate/school life 4-panel manga, Kinoko Nasu inspire shorts in TV special

The "Fate/Grand Order Guest Talk Stage in Akihabara Festival 2017" event announced on Saturday that the Fate/Grand Order role-playing game app franchise will air two new anime shorts at the end of the year. They will air as part of the Fate Project Ōmisoka TV Special (Fate Project New Year's Eve TV Special) on December 31 from 10:00 to 11:55 p.m. on the Tokyo MX, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and BS111 channels, as well as on the Niconico Live service.

The first new anime short is titled Fate/Grand Order x Himuro no Tenchi: 7-nin no Saikyō Ijin-hen (Fate/Grand Order x Himuro's World: Seven Most Powerful Great Figures Chapter, pictured above), and it is based on Eiichirō Mashin's four-panel school comedy manga Himuro no Tenchi Fate/school life. It follows three girls — Kaede Makidera, Kane Himuro, and Yukika Saegusa — at Homurahara Academy, but has nothing to do with the efforts to restore the Human Order. Masato Nagamori is designing the characters, and Takahiro Miura is serving as technical director at the studio ufotable.

The second new anime short is titled Fate/Grand Order: Moonlight/Lostroom- (pictured above) and it centers on a "Lost Room" where you can find what was lost — or those who lost. This room, which belongs to no one, lies forgotten in a corner of Chaldea. Hitoshi Nanba and Takurō Tsukada are serving as chief director and director, respectively, at the studio Lay-duce. Kinoko Nasu wrote the script.

The New Year's Eve TV special will also feature a retrospective on the Fate Project in 2017, as well as an introduction to the Fate Project in 2018.
