Manga centers on historical Japanese warlord Oda Nobunaga as teacher in modern-day Japan

The December 29 issue of Nihon Bungeisha's Weekly Manga Goraku magazine revealed last Friday that Hideki Ohwada will launch a new manga titled Nobunaga-Sensei (Teacher Nobunaga, pictured center in magazine over image at right) in the magazine's next issue on Friday. The magazine hinted that the manga will feature historical Japanese warlord Oda Nobunaga as a teacher in modern-day Japan. The manga's first chapter will feature a color opening page and 30 total pages.

Ohwada (Mobile Suit Gundam-san, Mudazumo Naki Kaikaku) recently ended his Shippū no Hayato Shotoku Baizō Densetsu!! (Gale-Force Hayato Income-Doubling Legend!!) political manga in June. Ohwada launched the series in Kodansha's Morning magazine in January 2016. The series focuses on former Prime Minister of Japan Hayato Ikeda during the post-war economic boom of Japan in the 1960s.

Ohwada's Mudazumo Naki Kaikaku manga previously inspired a three-episode video anime series. The first episode began streaming on YouTube and Nico Nico Douga in December 2009. The last two episodes were released on DVD in February 2010.
