Kaitō Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger pits thieves vs. cops

Kaitō Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger (Phantom Thief Sentai Lupinranger VS Police Sentai Patranger) premieres on February 11 as the Super Sentai franchise's first television series to feature two rival sentai teams from the start. The 42nd live-action Super Sentai series since 1975 will run on TV Asahi and affiliated stations on Sundays at 9:30 a.m.

The three-member Lupinranger fights as "Robin Hoods" to restore an important person lost in the past. The Patranger team fights for justice and an ideal future as a paramilitary unit in the International Special Police Organization.

The three-way battle between Lupinranger, Patranger, and the crime syndicate Gangraa revolves around the "Lupin Collection" — treasures, left behind by the legendary thief character Arsene Lupin, that can bring about humanity's prosperity or extinction.

Each sentai team has a Red member as its leader. Lupin Red leads Lupin Blue and Lupin Yellow in Lupinranger. PatRan 1, who zealously aims for a zero crime rate, leads the green PatRan 2 and pink PatRan 3 in Patranger.

Junko Kōmura (Kamen Rider Wizard, Dōbutsu Sentai Zyuohger) is writing the scripts, and Teruaki Sugihara (Dōbutsu Sentai Zyuohger) is directing the new series. Producer Takaaki Utsunomiya (Kamen Rider Wizard, Samurai Sentai Shinkenger) is also returning from Zyuohger.

French author Maurice Leblanc created the Arsene Lupin character, the loose inspiration for Monkey Punch's more boisterous Lupin III character.
