Tales of Link Smartphone Game Ends Service in March

posted on by Karen Ressler
Both Japanese, English versions to be discontinued

The official Japanese website for Bandai Namco Entertainment's Tales of Link smartphone game announced on Thursay that the game will discontinue service on March 28. The Google Play page for the English version also announced that it will shut down on March 27 at 7:00 p.m. PST.

The English version has discontinued purchase of Hero Stones, but Hero Stones and items can be used until the last day. The Japanese version will discontinue sales of Hero Stones on February 26.

Bandai Namco Games originally released the iOS and Android game in Japan in 2014, and released an English version over Google Play in 2016. In the game, Shiori Mikami leads the game's voice cast as adventurer Sara. Sara teams up with characters from past Tales of games in order to defeat enemies.

The Tales of game franchise has inspired multiple crossover smartphone games featuring characters from its main titles. Bandai Namco released its Tales of Asteria smartphone game in March 2014, and it spawned three additional chapters. The Tales of the Rays smartphone game launched last February in Japan and later the same year in English.
