posted on by Andrew Osmond
Pre-orders deadline March 11, stock expected in late July or early August

Anime Limited has announced that it will distribute the Blu-ray Collector's Edition of "Rise of the Red Comet", the sixth volume of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin, in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Scandinavian territories. The title can be pre-ordered here.

According to the announcement:

"This pre-order scheme at our AllTheAnime.com web shop in conjunction with Bandai Visual allows UK, Ireland and Scandinavian fans the chance to pre-order this upcoming release knowing that it will be sent from our offices here in the UK (once stock arrives – expected late July / early August 2018.) Though please note this is a Japanese product. Though the main feature itself will include the English language dub and English subtitles to accompany the original Japanese audio, any additional features on the disc itself and/or the physical items included in the package itself will be in Japanese only.

"We (Anime Limited) will be taking pre-orders for this MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM THE ORIGIN VI Rise of the Red Comet set for the UK, Ireland and Scandinavian customers through our AllTheAnime.com web shop starting on Thursday 1st February. NOTE: The deadline to pre-order this by Friday 11th May 2018. After the deadline has passed we will not accept any more orders for this product.

"Though unlikely, should there be any additional units available following fulfilment of all orders, they will be made available to order through our AllTheAnime.com web shop on a first-come first-served basis.

"The product itself isn't released in Japan until mid-July 2018, so we anticipate our stock to arrive following the Japanese release date in either late July / early August 2018 and shipping will commence as soon as possible following that. Obviously if our allocation arrives earlier than that we will work to fulfil pre-orders sooner."

The synopsis is as follows:

January 23, Universal Century 0079. The battlefield has shifted to Loum, and a clash between the Zeon and Earth Federation fleets has begun in earnest. Char Aznable, a young ace pilot of the Zeon forces, earns fame for his remarkable feats at the controls of his red Zaku mobile suit, and becomes known as the “Red Comet.”

After the fierce battle, as the Zeon and Federation sides take their places at the negotiating table, a certain declaration is transmitted throughout the world. Meanwhile, the Federation Forces launch “Operation V,” their plan for a counterattack.

And a boy named Amuro Ray, living a peaceful life at Side 7, takes action on his own to investigate the mystery of the new weapon called “Gundam…”

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin adapts Yoshikazu Yasuhiko's manga of the same name, which in turn is inspired by the first Mobile Suit Gundam anime's story.
