Studio Wanpack Closes After Founder Kōji Yamada Passes Away

Studio handled outsourced animation for hundreds of anime

The official website for Studio Wanpack announced on Thursday that its studio head and founder Kōji Yamada passed away on January 2. In addition, it announced that the studio will close down on February 28.

Studio Wanpack, located in Toyonaka, Osaka, was founded in 1993. As of last April, the studio had reported nearly 90 staff members. The studio handled outsourced key animation or in-between animation for hundreds of anime, including this season's Laid-Back Camp (episode 4) and many other recent series such as Made in Abyss, Scum's Wish, and Yuri!!! on Ice.
