The official website of talent agency Aoni Productions announced on Wednesday that Susumu Kubo, the agency's founder and president, passed away on Tuesday at 1:08 p.m. He was 82. The announcement noted that Kubo had been undergoing treatment for an unspecified illness for some time.

Family and company members will hold a vigil on February 12, before the funeral on February 13 at the Aoyama Funeral Home in Tokyo. Aoni Productions representative director Toshio Furuichi will lead the ceremonies.

The company manages a wide variety of talent, which includes actors, voice actors, and narrators, and casts talent for anime, games, commercials, television narration, and sound work, among others. Aoni Productions also runs the Aoni Juku voice acting school. The agency represents such voice actors as Masako Nozawa, Toshio Furukawa, and Tohru Furuya.
