Akkun to Kanojo Anime's Cast, New Visuals Revealed

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda

The official website for the anime adaptation of Waka Kakitsubata's Akkun to Kanojo (Akkun and His Girlfriend) manga revealed the anime's cast and new visual on Thursday.

The cast includes:

Tatsuhisa Suzuki as Atsuhiro "Akkun" Kagari, the aloof, abrasive and dry-witted boyfriend of Non-chan. In truth, he is madly in love with Non-chan, so much so that he privately calls her by the affectionate nickname of "Non-tan," and acts like a stalker toward her.

Ayaka Suwa as Non "Nontan" Katagiri, the patient and tolerant girlfriend of Akkun. She is oblivious to most of Akkun's actions, almost to a point of willful ignorance, but in truth, she actually loves Akkun.

Keisuke Ueda as Masago Matsuo, Akkun's friend who knows his true nature, but still hangs out with him. He likes to play gal games.

Arisa Kōri as Chiho Kagari, Akkun's little sister, who is in her rebellious phase. She puts up an act when her brother Akkun's beloved Non-chan is present.

The anime will premiere this spring.

Shin Katagai (Neo Angelique Abyss) is directing the anime at Yumeta Company. Yuka Yamada (Aikatsu!, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid) is in charge of series composition. Motohiro Taniguchi (Yuruyuri Nachu Yachumi!) is designing the characters.

The romantic comedy follows the everyday life of an extremely tsundere (initially aloof and abrasive, but later kind-hearted) boy named Atsuhiro "Akkun" Kagari and his girlfriend Non "Nontan" Katagiri. Akkun's behavior is harsh towards Nontan with verbal abuse and neglect, but he actually is head-over-heels for her and habitually acts like a stalker by tailing her or eavesdropping. Nontan is oblivious to Akkun's stalker ways, and thinks his actions are cute.

Kakitsubata launched the manga in Kadokawa's josei magazine Monthly Comic Gene in June 2013, and the manga's compiled book volumes have over 480,000 copies in print. Kadokawa published the manga's seventh compiled book volume last November. The manga is also on the pixiv service, where it has garnered over 11 million views. Frontier Works and Kadokawa Media Factory released a drama CD in December 2016 with Jun Fukuyama as Akkun and Aoi Yūki as Nontan.
