Bisco Hatori's Behind the Scenes!! Manga Enters Final Arc

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Manga by Ouran High School Host Club creator launched in 2014

The April issue of Hakusensha's LaLa magazine revealed on Saturday that Bisco Hatori's Behind the Scenes!! (Urakata!!) manga has entered its final arc.

Viz Media is publishing the manga in English, and it describes the story:

Ranmaru Kurisu comes from a family of hardy, rough-and-tumble fisher folk, and he sticks out at home like a delicate, artistic sore thumb. It's given him a raging inferiority complex and a permanently pessimistic outlook. Now that he's in college, he's hoping to find a sense of belonging. But after a whole life of being left out, does he even know how to fit in?!

It's two months into Ranmaru's college career, and if he's learned one thing, it's that he's really uncomfortable around other people. But when he stumbles into a zombie mob attack, he's forced out of his comfort zone in the most dramatic way possible! Of course it's just a movie shoot, but when he wakes up from his ignoble faint, he's been whisked away behind the scenes with the Art Squad! Could this group of weirdoes be what Ranmaru's been looking for all his life?!

Hatori launched Behind the Scenes!! in LaLa in May 2014. Hakusensha published the manga's fifth compiled book volume last March, and Viz Media published the same volume in English on February 6. Hakusensha will publish the sixth volume in Japan on March 5.

Hakusensha published two volumes of Hatori's Millennium Snow manga in 2001 and 2002. Hatori then resumed the series in 2012 and ended it in December 2013. Viz Media published the first two volumes in North America in 2007, and then it published the final two volumes in 2014. Viz Media also published Hatori's Ouran High School Host Club manga, which inspired a 2006 television anime adaptation.
