12-episode anime premiered in 2008

Video streaming service Viewster is now streaming the complete Kaiba anime. The series is available in Japanese with English subtitles.

Viewster describes the story:

A young man awakens without memories. There's a hole in his chest, a symbol on his belly, and a blurry picture of a girl in a locket he has. Knowing nothing, he tries to escape a twisted city of stolen memories and exchangeable bodies in a world where minds are stored on chips when individuals die and the manipulation of other people's memories has become the norm.

Masaaki Yuasa (The Tatami Galaxy, Ping Pong, Mind Game, Lu over the wall) and Madhouse's 12-episode Kaiba anime series premiered in Japan in April 2008. Discotek Media released the series on a Blu-ray Disc/DVD combo pack in North America in September 2017. Siren Visual released the series in Australia in 2011.

The series starred Houko Kuwashima as Kaiba, Mamiko Noto as Neiro, and Romi Park as Popo.

Kaiba won a Prize for Excellence in Animation award at the 12th Japan Media Arts Festival Awards in 2008.
