Steins;Gate Elite is a major update of the original Steins;Gate game from MAGES. with new elements. The game replaces scenes in the original visual novel with scenes from the anime adaptation. 5pb. Games previously streamed a commercial for the game last November that hinted that "world lines" that were not animated in the anime are "being experimented."

Set in Tokyo's Akihabara district, the original game followed Rintarō Okabe as he changes fate by travelling between different world lines. The game inspired a 2011 television anime as well as the Steins;Gate – The Movie – Load Region of Déjà Vu sequel, and the game franchise boasts over 1 million copies. The followup game Steins;Gate 0 is inspiring its own anime project.
