Crunchyroll Adds Devils' Line Manga to Simulpub Lineup, Reveals Territories for 4 Spring Simulcast Anime

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins

Crunchyroll announced on Saturday that it is adding Ryo Hanada's Devil's Line manga to its simulpub lineup starting on April 1 at 8:00 p.m. EDT. The manga will be available worldwide outside of Japan.

Crunchyroll will publish some of the manga's uncollected chapters (chapters 53-36) on April 1, with chapter 57 on April 9 and chapter 58 on April 16 leading up to the actual simultaneous publication. Users can purchase e-books of the previous manga volumes through the Android version of Crunchyroll's app.

Crunchyroll also revealed territory details for the following previously announced simulcast anime series:

Aniplex USA will also stream Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online and PERSONA 5 the Animation on Hulu. Funimation will stream English dub versions of Space Battleship Tiramisu and Kakuriyo -Bed & Breakfast for Spirits-.

Vertical Comics is publishing Devil's Line in print in English, and Kodansha Advanced Media is releasing the manga digitally in North America. Vertical Comics describes the series' story:

Tsukasa, a college student, is rescued from an attack by a devil, one of many vampires that can blend in among the human population. Anzai, her savior, is a half-devil who exploits his supernatural gifts as a member of a shadowy police task force that specializes in devil-related crime in Tokyo. As Anzai continues to keep guard over Tsukasa, the two quickly forge a tentative bond—one that Anzai fears will test his iron-clad rule of never drinking human blood...

Hanada launched the dark fantasy manga in Kodansha's Monthly Morning two magazine in 2013, and Kodansha published the 11th volume on March 23. Vertical Comics published the 10th volume on March 6.

The anime adaptation of Devil's Line will premiere in Japan on AT-X on April 7 at 23:30, and it will also air on Tokyo MX, BS11, Sun TV, and KBS Kyoto. HIDIVE will stream the series starting on April 7, and will begin streaming an English dub within two weeks of the simulcast premiere.
