Mari Okada at Maquia Screenings in Dublin and London

Tickets still available for screenings in Dublin on April 14, London on April 16

Tickets are still available for the two special screenings of Maquia - When the Promised Flower Blooms in Dublin and London, where writer-director Mari Okada will appear in Q&A sessions. The screenings will be at the Lighthouse Cinema in Dublin on Saturday April 14 at 6 p.m. (booking) and at the Prince Charles cinema in London on Monday April 16, also at 6 p.m. (booking).

Maquia - When the Promised Flower Blooms will go on to have a cinema release in the UK and Ireland on June 27.

Mari Okada's numerous anime writing credits include Toradora!, anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, A Lull in the Sea, Black Butler and the feature film Anthem of the Heart

Anime Limited summarises the story of Maquia - When the Promised Flower Blooms as follows;

"Acclaimed screenwriter Mari Okada makes her directorial debut in this animated fantasy feature.The people of Iolph have a lifespan of hundreds of years and maintain their teenage appearances for life, but when the peace of this town is shattered by those who want the secret to their longevity for themselves, a young girl named Maquia is forced to escape. Wandering the land alone, upon finding an orphaned baby she chooses to raise him, but as this boy grows up so the difference in their lifespans is thrown into ever-sharper relief."
