The full official website for Compile Heart's Yūsha Neptune: Sekai yo Uchū yo Katsumoku se yo!! Ultimate RPG Sengen!! (Brave Neptunia: Watch Closely, O World and Universe!! This is the Ultimate RPG Announcement!!) game opened on Thursday and revealed that the game will ship for PlayStation 4 on September 27. The website also revealed the full details of the release.

The game's story is set in the dimension of Gamegyō, which revolves around 2D games. The organization Silkworm, which worships 2D games, controls this world. People produce 2D games and pay taxes with those game cartridges. Those who make crude games or games that utilize new technology are sent to a testing facility that is rumored to break their spirits. In such a world, one girl who lost her memories wakes from sleep.

The girl who knows nothing goes toward a neighboring town on Silkworm's orders, but a monster blocks her way. The girl fights with a fallen cypress branch and earns a magnificent victory. Neptune, protagonist of this game, gains convictions and becomes a hero herself. This self-described hero meets various people and sets out on a journey with a mysterious book in hand.

The regular physical version of the game will cost 7,776 yen (about US$71), and the digital version will cost 6,912 yen (about US$63). The Hero Edition will cost 10,476 yen (about US$96) and bundle a visual art book and soundtrack CD. People who pre-order the game will receive a product code card to download an "original dynamic theme."

Quebec-based video game developer Artisan Studios is developing the game as part of Compile Heart's Neptunia franchise. Artisan Studios is the first Western studio to develop a game in the franchise.
