PS4, Xbox One, PC versions ship in May; Switch version in summer

Bandai Namco Entertainment America confirmed on Tuesday that a network test for the Dark Souls: Remastered game will run for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 11-12. The network test will be held from 9:00 p.m. EDT to 2:59 a.m. EDT in the Americas on both days.

In the test, players will summon co-op partners or invade others' games within the Undead Parish location. Players can participate in the network test by downloading the client until May 8.

The game's PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions will launch on May 25 in North America and Europe and on May 24 in Japan. The Switch version of the game, another network test, and the Solaire amiibo will ship this summer.

The HD remaster will include the main game and the Artorias of the Abyss DLC. Players will be able to build their own characters with many weaponry, armor, magic, and crafting options. Players will be able to team up or fight against each other in groups of up to six people among nine covenants online with dedicated servers.

Bandai Namco Entertainment released the Dark Souls III game in Japan in March 2016, and it launched in North America and Europe for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in April 2016. The game set Bandai Namco Entertainment's record for most successful day-one sales, and Bandai Namco Entertainment America's record for fastest-selling game.

Disclosure: Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Bandai Namco Holdings Inc., is a non-controlling, minority shareholder in Anime News Network Inc.
