MIYAVI Performs at Anime Weekend Atlanta Convention

Starmarie to also attend event to be held on September 20-23

Fake Star announced on Friday that guitarist MIYAVI will attend the Anime Weekend Atlanta convention, as his first convention appearance in nearly 10 years. MIYAVI will perform at the convention, and will also host autograph sessions and a panel.

MIYAVI is also hosting a U.S. tour this month:

  • May 8, 2018 — El Rey Theatre, Los Angeles, CA
  • May 11, 2018 — Slim's, San Francisco, CA
  • May 13, 2018 — The Crocodile, Seattle, WA
  • May 16, 2018 — The Phoenix Theatre, Toronto, ON
  • May 18, 2018 — Theatre of the Living Arts, Philadelphia, PA
  • May 20, 2018 — Irving Plaza, New York, NY

MIYAVI joined the group S.K.I.N with Gackt, Sugizo, and Yoshiki four years into his career. He released his self-titled album in 2013, and it ranked at #8 on the Oricon chart.

MIYAVI recently acted in the live-action Garo: Kaminokiba film as Amily. The film opened in Japan on January 6. He will play Byakuya Kuchiki in the live-action Bleach film, which opens on July 20. He will also play Tomoya Adachi in the live-action Gangoose film, which will open this fall.

Anime Weekend Atlanta will be held on September 20-23 at the Renaissance Waverly & Cobb Galleria Center. The convention will also host Starmarie (Cardfight!! Vanguard G, Cardfight!! Vanguard G NEXT, Onigiri theme songs), as well as Azumi Inoue (Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro theme songs) and her daughter, 12-year-old singer Yuyu.
