Aksys Games also reveals contents of game's limited edition release in the West

Kadokawa's Famitsu.com website revealed on Tuesday that Little Dragons Café, the new game from designer Yasuhiro Wada (Bokujō Monogatari/Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons, Birthdays the Beginning), will ship in Japan for the Switch and PlayStation 4 on August 30.

Aksys Games also revealed the contents of its limited edition release of the game (seen below). The limited edition will contain a soundtrack with 17 tracks from the game, 18 character cards, and a plush baby dragon. Aksys Games will release the game in the West in late summer. The limited edition retails for US$79.99. Amazon and Gamestop are both listing both versions of the game (standard and limited) for a release on August 24.

Aksys Games describes the story:

The story opens with a twin brother and sister learning to cook and manage a small café under their mother's tutelage. All was peaceful and routine until one morning when the twins discover that their mother has fallen into a deep sleep and won't wake up. Suddenly, a strange old man appears to inform them that they must raise a dragon in order to save her. Working together with three quirky café employees, the two siblings must figure out how to a wrangle a dragon and manage the family business while finding a way to save their mother.

The game's mechanics include dragon-raising, using recipes to cook for the café, growing ingredients, and helping neighbors to increase the café's popularity.

Aksys Games founder and CEO Akibo Shieh explained that he and Wada have been friends for over a decade. "It wasn't until Little Dragons Café that our schedules finally lined up so we were able to work together on a project," he said. The game has been in development for two years.
