Anime Limited Acquires CC Sakura: Sealed Card Film, Angelic Layer Blu-ray (Updated)

Also new 'Ultimate' Edition of Perfect Blue with brand-new remaster, vinyl edition of soundtrack to FLCL, release details of Lu over the wall

Update - Anime Limited has added some further details about its releases.

At the MCM London Comic Con, Anime Limited announced the following acquisitions:

- A Collectors Blu-ray edition of the film Cardcaptor Sakura movie 2: The Sealed Card, pictured. Anime Limited hopes it can acquire more of the Card Captor Sakura franchise in the future.

- A Collectors Blu-ray edition of the 2001 series Angelic Layer, animated by Studio Bones from the CLAMP manga. This will be released in 'late Q3' 2018, including the series on three Blu-rays and a 40-page art book. Seven of the episodes will include commentaries by the dub cast and staff.

- Anime Limited will also release an Ultimate Edition of Satoshi Kon's psycho-thriller film Perfect Blue, with a brand-new video transfer and full new remaster of the film. The set will also include a 380-page storyboard book, with the text fully translated into English for the first time. Anime Limited comments, 'This book will allow you to see all of Satoshi Kon's storyboards for the film, and is packed with notes and thoughts from the director himself to give you a comprehensive insight into the creative process behind this groundbreaking film.' A soundtrack CD will also be included.

- The soundtrack of FLCL will be released on vinyl record.

- Anime Limited is also 'working on' a 20th anniversary edition of Cowboy Bebop. The company comments, 'We can confidently say that our release will contains all of the Cowboy Bebop TV series soundtracks on CD... Just the equivalent of one soundtrack's worth of music simply isn't enough, so we've worked hard to ensure that you'll get all of the notable music for the show included in the package. We'll also be making sure that our edition will accommodate the Cowboy Bebop movie [Cowboy Bebop: The Movie] in some shape or form – again, our exact plans for this are still in motion so we'll confirm more once these plans are solidified.

- On its site, Anime Limited has also confirmed details of its home release of Masaaki Yuasa's film Lu over the wall. The film will be released on July 16 as a Collectors Blu-ray/DVD edition (pictured), as well as a standard Blu-ray and DVD,

The Blu-ray/DVD edition will contain a 52-page book, including sections on cast and characters; settings; artwork; and interviews with director Masaaki Yuasa and the film's producers Eunyoung Choi and Yuka Okuyasu. (Additionally, the on-disc extras include a 28-minute interview with Yuasa.)

- Fireworks, Should We See it from the Side or the Bottom? will be released as a Collector's Blu-ray, but no release date is confirmed yet.
