Cutie Honey Universe Anime Casts Enka Singer Sachiko Kobayashi

The official Twitter account for Cutie Honey Universe, the currently airing anime project based on Gō Nagai's Cutie Honey manga, revealed on Monday that enka singer Sachiko Kobayashi will play the "Last Boss" character Panther Zora, leader of the evil Panther Claw organization. "Last Boss" is Kobayashi's nickname that references her elaborate stage costumes.
Kobayashi performed the Pokémon TV anime's ending theme song "Pokémon Ondo" under the name "Garura Kobayashi" (Kangaskhan Kobayashi). She also performed the ending theme song for Pokémon: The First Movie.
The series premiered on April 8 in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks has licensed the series. HIDIVE is streaming the series as it airs. Sentai Filmworks describes the anime:

Akitoshi Yokoyama (Photo Kano) is directing the anime at Production Reed. Natsuko Takahashi (Urahara, Yuyushiki) is handling the series composition and Syūichi Iseki is designing the characters and serving as chief animation director. The idol unit AŌP (Mr. Osomatsu, In Another World With My Smartphone) are performing the anime's opening theme song "Ai ga Nakucha Tatakaenai" (I Can't Fight Without Love). The male artist luz is performing the ending theme song "SISTER."
