Let's! Haikyu!? Spinoff Manga Goes on Hiatus

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Spinoff of Haruichi Furudate's Haikyu!! volleyball manga launched in 2014

The 188th chapter of Retsu's Let's! Haikyu!? spinoff manga revealed on Tuesday that the manga will go on hiatus. The chapter did not note when the manga will return.

Retsu launched the four-panel manga in Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ app in September 2014. Shueisha published the manga's sixth compiled book volume (seen right) on April 4.

The manga is a comedy spinoff of Haruichi Furudate's Haikyu!! volleyball manga. Furudate first published a one-shot version of the volleyball manga in the winter 2011 issue of Shueisha's Shonen Jump Next! magazine. Another one-shot then ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine later that year. Furudate launched the series version of the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2012, and Shueisha released the 32nd compiled book volume on July 4. Viz Media publishes the manga in North America, and the company released the 25nd volume on July 3.

Production I.G's anime adaptation of the manga premiered in April 2014. The second season premiered in 2015, and third season premiered is 2016. Crunchyroll streamed all three seasons as they aired in Japan, and HIDIVE began streaming the series in November. Sentai Filmworks has licensed all three seasons. The company released the first season on subtitled home video in 2015, followed by an English-dubbed release last November. The second season shipped on April 17.

The Gekijō-ban Haikyu!! Owari to Hajimari and Gekijō-ban Haikyu!! Shōsha to Haisha anime compilation films debuted in 2015. The Haikyu!! Sainō to Sense and Haikyu!! Concept no Tatakai compilation films opened in Japan last September.
