Pony Canyon USA Confirms Plans to Release Sound! Euphonium 2

The official Twitter account for Pony Canyon USA confirmed on Twitter on Tuesday that it plans to release Sound! Euphonium 2 for purchase "later this month." The company noted that it is "finalizing details" and asked fans to watch the Twitter account for the Right Stuf Anime online store.

Pony Canyon previously released the first Sound! Euphonium anime based on Ayano Takeda's novel on three Blu-ray Disc/DVD combo packs in 2016.

The original Sound! Euphonium anime premiered in April 2015, and Sound! Euphonium 2 premiered in October 2016. Both anime seasons have received compilation films. The novels are also inspiring two more new films: Liz and the Blue Bird opened in Japan on April 21 and Gekijōban Hibike! Euphonium: Chikai no Finale will open next spring.

Pony Canyon USA has not released the compilation films, though it promoted the first film at Seattle's Sakura-Con in 2016 with the explanation that it was considering an English release. The company hosted the United States premiere of Liz and the Blue Bird at Anime Expo last week, and Eleven Arts Anime Studio will screen the film in the U.S. in November.
