posted on by Jennifer Sherman

Avex Pictures revealed a teaser visual and the October premiere for the "final series" of the television anime adaptation of Hiro Mashima's Fairy Tail manga on Wednesday. The series will air on TV Tokyo and its affiliated networks.

The main staff are all returning from the second and most recent television anime. Shinji Ishihira is directing at A-1 Pictures and Bridge, Masashi Sogo is handling series composition, and Shinji Takeuchi and Toshihiko Sano are designing the characters. Shōji Hata is the sound designer and Yasuharu Takanashi is composing the music. With the exception of the second animation studio and the character designers, the main staff is also the same as the first anime.

Returning cast members include:

Mashima's Fairy Tail manga series follows the adventures of world's most notorious mage guild, Fairy Tail. The manga launched in 2006, and ended last July.

The manga has inspired two television anime, two anime films, several original video anime projects, and spinoff manga. Kodansha Comics publishes the original manga and a number of its spinoffs in North America.

Atsuo Ueda (Dr. Prisoner, Hajime Shachō Monogatari) launched the official sequel the original manga in Kodansha's Magazine Pocket manga app on Wednesday. Manga creator Kenshiro Sakamoto (Pitch-Black Ten) is drawing the Fairy Tail: Happy no Daibōken (Fairy Tail: Happy's Grand Adventure) spinoff manga that will launch "soon." Ushio Andō is providing the story and art for the Fairy Tail City Hero spinoff manga, which is slated to debut this fall.
