Elex Media Licenses Castle Town Dandelion, Real Account Manga

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Ichigo Shiraki's The Night of Club Indigo manga also licensed

Indonesian publisher Elex Media Komputindo announced on Friday that it has licensed Ayumu Kasuga's Castle Town Dandelion (Jōkamachi no Dandelion), Okushō and Shizumu Watanabe's Real Account, and Ichigo Shiraki's The Night of Club Indigo (Indigo no Yoru) manga.

In the story of Castle Town Dandelion, the everyday lives of the nine super-powered siblings of the royal family are monitored by more than 200 surveillance cameras and broadcast nationwide. The people of the nation who are watching the broadcast will have the ability to elect the next monarch. The story focuses on Akane, the third-oldest sister who can manipulate gravity. She is shy and desperately does not want to be caught on camera.

Kasuga launched the manga in Manga Time Kirara Miracle! in 2012. The series moved to the Manga Time Kirara magazine last October due to Manga Time Kirara Miracle! ceasing publication. Houbunsha published the manga's fourth compiled book volume in May 2017.

The manga inspired a 12-episode television anime adaptation that premiered in July 2015.

Elex Media describes Real Account:

"Online ties were everything to me." A modern death game has begun, using the popular social media service Real Account as its background!

Ataru Kashiwagi and ten thousand other people who are all constantly online and hooked to the social media service Real Account are sucked into the Real Account World! Here, they are simply players in a series of vile games that will test the strength of their relationship with others. In this world, if you have zero followers, you die. And if you die, all your followers die as well.

Manga creator Watanabe (Kono Kanojo wa Fiction desu.) and writer Okushō launched Real Account in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in the February 2014 issue, but the series then switched to Weekly Shōnen Magazine in January 2015. Kodansha shipped the manga's 20th compiled book volume on June 15. The manga has 2.6 million copies in print.

The manga is inspiring a live-action film adaptation.

The Night of Club Indigo is based on Miaki Katō's mystery novel series of the same name. The novels center on a host club in Shibuya called "club indigo." Unlike traditional host clubs, club indigo has hosts who are also dancers and DJs, and has more of a nightclub atmosphere, complete with an owner who was a former street tough himself. However, club indigo's employees also solve mysteries in their spare time all over Shibuya.

Shiraki launched the manga in Square Enix's Monthly Big Gangan magazine in November 2013, and ended it in 2016. Square Enix published four compiled book volumes for the manga.

The novel series launched in 2005, and the sixth and latest novel, Rocket Sky, shipped in 2015. The series inspired a 2010 live-action series and a stage play.
