Anime Producer Takao Asaga Passes Away at 61

Anime, film, and tokusatsu producer Takao Asaga passed away on June 16. He was 61. Director and manga creator Hikari Hayakawa and anime scriptwriter Chiaki J. Konaka reported on a farewell ceremony held for Asaga held on Friday last week.
Hayakawa posted a photograph from the filming of his 1985 direct-to-video film Ubawareta Shinzō, for which Asaga served as producer. Asaga is pictured third from the left in the back row.
Asaga primarily worked as producer on such anime as Guyver: Out of Control, Riki-Oh: Tōkatsu Jigoku, Oh My Goddess!, Battle Angel, Wedding Peach, Golden Boy, Legend of Basara, To Heart, Dangaizer 3, Comic Party, Godannar, The Qwaser of Stigmata, GATE, Monster Musume, In This Corner of the World, Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale, and Sword Oratoria: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? On the Side.
