Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists Game's 1st Promo Video Streamed

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Game launches in Japan for PS4, PS Vita, Switch this year

Koei Tecmo's Gust brand began streaming the first promotional video on Friday for its Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World (Nelke to Densetsu no Renkinjutsushi-tachi: Arata na Daichi no Atelier) game. The video previews Mitsuki Nakae's theme song "Alchemia."

In Japan, the game will be available physically and digitally on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo Switch this year.

A premium edition with a visual book, sound archives CD, a B2-size poster, and a mini metal clear poster will be available for all three systems. A "20th anniversary commemorative box" edition will include all of these bonuses plus metal badges of classic Atelier series characters, an acrylic stand figure of Nelke, and a large poster.

Koei Tecmo America and Koei Tecmo Europe will release the game in the West this winter. The game will be available physically on PS4 and Switch, and digitally on PC via Steam.

Koei Tecmo describes the game:

Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World puts players in the shoes of Nelke von Lestamm, a young noblewoman who has always been fascinated by the ancient legend of the Sage of Granzweit; a tale of the Granzweit Tree which is said to bestow great power upon those whom discover it. As she grew up and learned her skills were not in alchemy, she studied hard to become a government official and help those around her. The day Nelke is set to graduate the academy, however, her life changes forever as she hears a rumour that the tree can be found within her father's lands near the small village of Westwald. Her father grants her permission to search for it on one condition – that she becomes governor of the area and develops Westwald into a prosperous city.

NOCO, the character designer from Atelier Sophie and Atelier Firis, returns as the character designer for the game.

The latest game in the franchise, Gust's Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings (Lydie to Suelle no Atelier ~Fushigi no Kaiga no Renkinjutsushi~), shipped in Japan for the PS4, PS Vita, and Switch on December 21. Koei Tecmo Games released the game on the PS4, Switch, and PC via Steam in North America on March 27 and in Europe on March 30.

Gust is also releasing PS4 and Switch ports for the Arland trilogy games — Atelier Rorona, Atelier Totori, and Atelier Meruru — in Japan on September 20.
