Star Wars: Resistance Animated Series' Video Highlights Team Aces

Polygon Pictures animates series debuting on October 7

The official Star Wars Twitter account posted a video introducing more characters from Lucasfilm's Star Wars: Resistance animated series on Friday. The video highlights the characters from Team Aces: Torra Doza (voiced by Myrna Velasco), Hype Fazon (Donald Faison), Griff Halloran (Stephen Stanton), Freya Fenris (Mary Elizabeth McGlynn), and Bo Keevil.

The series will follow the adventures of Kazuda "Kaz" Xiono (voiced by Christopher Sean), a newly minted Resistance pilot tasked to spy on the growing threat of the First Order. As part of his undercover mission, he joins "Team Fireball," a racing team on the station Colossus.

The series is set before the events of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens film and will also feature such characters as Leia Organa, Poe Dameron, and Captain Phasma (as voiced by Rachel Butera, Oscar Isaac, and Gwendoline Christie, respectively).

Polygon Pictures is animating the series. The show will premiere on Disney Channel in the United States on October 7 at 10:00 p.m., and thereafter, on Disney XD and around the world.

Dave Filoni created the series, with Athena Portillo, Justin Ridge, and Brandon Auman as executive producers. Amy Beth Christenson is the art director.

Polygon Pictures is perhaps best known for the two Ajin television anime series and film trilogy, and the ongoing Godzilla: Kaijū Wakusei film trilogy. It also contributed to the animation of 2008's Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which won the Outstanding Special Class Animated Program category in the Daytime Emmy Awards two years in a row. The studio previously adapted Tsutomu Nihei's Knights of Sidonia and Blame! manga into 3DCG anime films and series, and recently established a joint venture with the manga creator in March.
