Ore ga Suki nano wa Imōto dakedo Imōto ja nai Anime's Early Web Premiere Cancelled

posted on by Egan Loo
Anime will still premiere on TV on October 10

The official website for the television anime of Seiji Ebisu's Ore ga Suki nano wa Imōto dakedo Imōto ja nai (The One I Love Is My Little Sister But She's Not a Little Sister) light novel series announced on Wednesday that the planned early streaming of the first episode has been cancelled "due to production issues." However, the website confirms that the anime will premiere on television as scheduled on October 10.

The staff had planned to stream the first anime episode via the d Anime Store service on Saturday, September 29 at 9:00 p.m. The first episode would then stream on the Niconico Live service on Sunday, September 30 at 10:30 p.m., followed by Abema TV on October 1 at 24:30 (effectively, October 2 at 12:30 a.m.) All of these early streams of the first episode have been cancelled, although the cast will still host a pre-broadcast special — without the first anime episode — on Niconico Live on September 30 at 9:00, and then on dAnime Store on that same day at 10:00 p.m.

The "awkward sibling romantic comedy" series centers around the younger sister Suzuka Nagami and the older brother Yū Nagami. Suzuka is a beautiful third-year middle school student who has excellent grades and is the student council president. She wrote a novel about a little sister who dotes on her older brother, and the novel wins a light novel award. After they discuss the matter, Yū is the one who debuts as a proxy light novel author instead of Suzuka, under the pen name Chikai Towano.

The main cast includes:

Tasuku Hatanaka as Yū Nagami

Reina Kondo as Suzuka Nagami

Yui Ogura as Mai Himuro, Yū's classmate who is actually a light novel author he admires

Chinatsu Akasaki as Ahegao W Peace Sensei, the illustrator from Great Britain for "Chikai Towano's" books

Kazusa Aranami as Sakura Minazuki, a much-anticipated rookie voice actress who was already chosen as the main heroine in her debut role

The anime will premiere on the AT-X, Tokyo MX, Sun TV, and KBS Kyoto channels on October 10, and will also stream on the d Anime Store and Abema TV services on the same day. It will then start on TV Aichi and TV Kyushu on October 11, and on BS11 on October 12.

Hiroyuki Furukawa (My First Girlfriend is a Gal, My Wife is the Student Council President director and character designer, Hybrid x Heart Magias Academy Ataraxia director) is directing the series and adapting Gintarō's character designs for animation. NAZ and new studio Magia Doraglier are producing the series. Furukawa announced in September 2017 that he had established the new studio.

Yūichirō Momose (My First Girlfriend is a Gal) is in charge of series composition. Masakazu Miyake (Girls' Last Tour) is the art director. Kumiko Yanagisawa (Konohana Kitan) is the color designer. Kisuke Koizumi (Parasyte -the maxim-) is the sound director. Yashikin (My First Girlfriend is a Gal) is composing the music.

Purely Monster (A Centaur's Life) is performing the anime's opening theme song, and Junjō no Afilia (My First Girlfriend is a Gal) is performing the ending theme song.

Ebisu launched the light novel series with illustrator Gintarō in 2016, and Kadokawa published the sixth novel on April 20. Kō Narita launched an ongoing manga adaptation in Kadokawa's Dragon Age magazine in December.
