Gag manga spinoff debuted in 2013, inspired anime

The official Twitter account for Tokuma Shoten's Web Comic Zenyon announced on Thursday that the Hokuto no Ken: Ichigo Aji (Fist of the North Star: Strawberry Flavor) spinoff gag manga will go on hiatus due to artist Imōto Yukito's poor physical health. The message did not include an estimated return date.

Imōto Yukito, Yukito, and Yūshi Kawata launched the manga on Web Comic Zenyon website in 2013. Kawata writes the manga's scenarios, Imōto Yukito draws the manga, and Yukito is credited with collaboration. Buronson and Tetsuo Hara — the creators of the original Fist of the North Star post-apocalyptic fighting manga — are credited with the original work.

Tokuma Shoten published the ninth compiled volume on September 20.

The manga inspired an anime as part of the DD Hokuto no Ken 2 Ichigo Aji+ (DD Fist of the North Star II + Fist of the North Star: Strawberry Flavor) television anime program in 2015. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired.
