Stealth Symphony's Yōichi Amano draws manga, illustrates novel launching on Monday

This year's 48th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed more information on Monday about the Mist Gears multimedia collaboration project by mobile gaming company Alim, tri-Ace, and Shueisha.

Manga creator Yōichi Amano (Stealth Symphony) is drawing the manga, which launched on the Shonen Jump+ app and website on Monday. The manga is titled Mist Gears Blast. The novel from Jump j Books, titled Mist Gears Ghost, also debuted physically and digitally on Monday. The game, titled Mist Gears, will debut in late November on iOS and Android.

Hajime Tanaka is writing the scenario for the project, and is also writing the novel and writing the story for the manga. Amano is also drawing the character designs for the project, and is also illustrating the novel.

The project's story begins with the "Day of Purgatory" marking the arrival of Mist, a calamitous mist that becomes the worst disaster in known history. Life crumbles with its arrival, and strange beasts emerge from it. Humanity seems to be on the path to extinction. 70 years after the Day of Purgatory, the Valks Kingdom begins "Mist Gear," a project that will restore hope to humanity.

The game is labeled an "environment RPG." Players explore a world hidden in Mist, with Mist affecting battles, and also powering up skills called Mist Cores. Up to four players can team up with their Mist Gears to explore, investigate, and fight together.
