I Want to Eat Your Pancreas author's 2016 novel centers on elementary school girl meeting 3 women

Indonesian publisher Penerbit Haru announced last Friday that it has licensed Yoru Sumino's I Saw the Same Dream Again (Mata, Onaji Yume o Miteita) novel.

The novel centers on grade schooler Nanoka Koyanagi, who meets a short-tailed cat and three different women as she is out taking a walk. The first woman is Minami, a high schooler whom Nanoka sees has many wounds on her wrist. The second woman is another high schooler, constantly called a "whore" by her classmates. The third woman is an old lady, trying to live out her twilight years in peace.

Futabasha published the novel in February 2016. Idumi Kirihara launched a manga adaptation of the novel in Monthly Action in September 2017, and ended it on August 25. Futabasha published the manga's third and final compiled book volume on September 12. Kirihara also drew a manga of Sumino's Kimi no Suizō o Tabetai (I Want to Eat Your Pancreas) novel in the same magazine from August 2016 to May 2017.

Sumino's Kimi no Suizō o Tabetai novel inspired a live-action film that premiered in Japan in July 2017. The novel inspired an anime film that opened in Japan on September 1. Encore Films and Moxienotion will screen the anime film in Indonesia.
