The official Twitter account for the game series based on the Girls und Panzer franchise revealed on Sunday that the Girls und Panzer Dream Tank Match PlayStation 4 game is getting a Nintendo Switch port in 2019 under the title Girls und Panzer Dream Tank Match DX. The new version will feature new characters and tanks from the first Girls und Panzer das Finale film.

The game shipped in Japan on February 22. The Premium Edition of the game bundled a Blu-ray Disc with video content (including the "Tank Trial!" picture drama and an "Anglerfish Team Roundtable Discussion" talk show video), a specially designed box, a "Dream Tank Book" special booklet, and a clear visual poster set. Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia released the game on February 27 in Southeast Asia with English text and Japanese audio.

The game features five-vs-five online tank battles and a tank and crew customization mode. The game also has two original story modes: a "story battle" featuring storyline from the Girls und Panzer der Film movie, and a "domination battle" featuring stories from the perspectives of other schools. The game also features missions inspired by the original television anime series.

The first film in the six-part Girls und Panzer das Finale film series opened in Japan in 59 theaters in December 2017. The film features new characters from BC Freedom High School as they engage in a winter battle. The second film will open in Japan on June 15, 2019.
