Qualidea Code's Risō Maeda Launches New Manga

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Moto Sekai Ichi-i Subchara Ikusei Nikki manga centers on gamer reincarnated into fantasy world

The January issue of Kadokawa's Shōnen Ace magazine revealed on Monday that manga creator Risō Maeda will launch a new manga titled Moto Sekai Ichi-i Subchara Ikusei Nikki ~Hai-Player, Isekai o Kōryaku-chū! (The Former Top 1 Sub-Character in the World's Raising Diary ~A Lapsed Player is Currently Conquering a Fantasy World!~) in the magazine's next issue on December 26.

The manga centers on a man who has gone through middle school and high school with below average grades, is not working, but spends all of his time playing online games. In the online game he plays, he is ranked #1, and it has become his entire life. But one day, his character is "cracked," and becomes unplayable and unrecoverable. He loses his #1 position, and in despair tries to commit suicide. However, when he regains consciousness, he finds himself in a world similar to the online game he played, and he is reincarnated into the body of a sub-character he bought and created long ago but didn't use.

The manga is based on Harutarō Sawamura's Moto Sekai Ichi-i Subchara Ikusei Nikki ~Hai-Player, Isekai o Kōryaku-chū! story, which is being serialized on the "Shōsetsuka ni Narō" (Let's Become Novelists) website. Kadokawa will publish the first volume of the story's print version on January 10, with illustrations by Maro.

Maeda drew the manga adaptation of the Qualidea Code cross-media project, which ran in Shueisha's Jump SQ. magazine from 2016 to 2017, with two volumes. Maeda also drew the manga adaptation of P.A. Works' A Lull in the Sea anime.
