2nd Shimajirō Anime Film's Trailer Previews Momoiro Clover Z Song

The official website for Benesse Corporation's Shimajirō anime franchise unveiled a new trailer and visual on Thursday for Shimajirō to Ururu no Heroland, the second film in the franchise. The trailer reveals and previews the film's theme song "Hero" by Momoiro Clover Z.

The film will open in Japan on March 15.

The film's story is set in Heroland, a world created by the inventor Ururu where heroes and heroines can all meet. Shimajirō hears that Gaogao-san is in trouble and hurries to help him in the "Dokodemo Sidecar." Using it, he reaches Heroland. There, Shimajirō meets his hero Ratman, but a robot threatens Heroland. Shimajirō and the others must come together and save Heroland. The film's theme is, "A kind heart turns you into a hero."

The cast includes Omi Minami, Miki Takahashi, Takumi Yamazaki, Saori Sugimoto, and Minoru Inaba.

Takamitsu Kawamura is directing the film, with a script by Yumi Yamamoto. The Answer Studio is returning from the earlier television series to animate the film alongside Back Street.

The original Shima Shima Tora no Shimajirou television anime aired in Japan from 1993 to 2008. The sequel Hakken Taiken Daisuki! Shimajirō aired from 2008 to 2010 and continued under the new title Shimajirō Hesoka from April 2010 to March 2012. The Shimajirō no Wow! anime series premiered in 2012, and was nominated in the Animation category of the International Emmy Kids Awards in October 2015. Eiga Shimajirō: Mahō no Shima no Daibōken (Shimajirō the Movie: Great Adventure on Magic Island), the franchise's first full-length film, opened in Japan on March 9.
