The Girl in the Twilight Smartphone Game Ends Service on January 31

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Game launched on October 15

The official Twitter account for the smartphone/PC (browser) tie-in game for Animax's original television anime The Girl in Twilight (Akanesasu Shōjo) announced on Thursday that the game will end service on January 31. Sales of in-game items will end on December 27. The game will have an update on January 31, after which time those interested can still play a "standalone" version of the game.

The game launched in Japan on October 15, and had reached more than 300,000 pre-registrations before launch.

The game features an original main character named Nagi (voiced by Maaya Sakamoto). Nagi searches for her sister in the parallel world. She has led a difficult life in a cruel world, and cannot relate to the normal lives of Asuka and the others. She begins to open up to Asuka and her friends as she travels with them.

The game launched for iOS and Android devices, as well as for PCs (through browsers via DMM Games). The game shares the anime's original scenario writer, original character designers, concept artist, main theme song writer, and music producer.

The anime premiered on October 1. Sentai Filmworks has licensed the anime, and HIDIVE is streaming the series as it airs. HIDIVE is listing the anime with 12 episodes.
