SSSS.Gridman anime series ended on Saturday, Ultraman anime premieres on April 1

Tsuburaya Productions began streaming a special crossover promotional video on Saturday for the SSSS.Gridman anime series and the Ultraman anime series. The video features Gridman (voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa) introducing himself and telling Ultraman (voiced by Ryohei Kimura) to remember what his mission is, and that they must carry out their mission. Ultraman says he does not know yet why he fights, but he must fight nonetheless. Ultraman ends the video by saying "Just as you are Gridman," and Gridman responds, "You are Ultraman."

The 12-episode SSSS.Gridman anime premiered on October 6. Crunchyroll and Funimation streamed the anime as it aired, and Funimation is also streaming an English dub for the anime.

Akira Amemiya (Inferno Cop, Ninja Slayer, earlier 2015 "Denkō Chōjin Gridman boy invent great hero" short) directed the collaboration between the anime Studio Trigger and Tsuburaya Productions — the creator of the Ultraman franchise and the original 1993-1994 live-action tokusatsu (special-effects) series Denkō Chōjin Gridman. Keiichi Hasegawa (Rage of Bahamut Genesis, 009-1: The End of the Beginning, Zoids) wrote the scripts.

The anime of Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi's Ultraman manga will premiere globally on Netflix on April 1.

Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Eden of the East, Napping Princess) and Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed, Harlock: Space Pirate, Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars) are directing the anime. Production I.G (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Eden of the East, Napping Princess) and Sola Digital Arts (Appleseed Alpha, Starship Troopers: Invasion, Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars) are producing the anime in 3D CG.
