Days of van Meowogh Feline Puzzle Game App Gets TV Anime

posted on by Egan Loo
Tomokazu Sugita stars as art maestro cat Vincent van Meowogh

The Cocone Corporation announced on December 18 that a television anime adaptation of its Neko no Nyahho: Nya Miseraburu (Days of van Meowogh or literally, Meowogh the Cat: Mes Misérables) smartphone puzzle game app has been green-lit. December 18 marked the one-year anniversary of the game.

Cocone describes the game:

Discover the adventures of the cat painter, Vincent van Meowogh who lives in a mansion in Paris surrounded by his quirky friends. Let's give him a spark of inspiration for his painting by completing puzzle stages, buy back the furniture and restore his home to its former glory!

For the anime, the game's voice cast members Tomokazu Sugita and Hikaru Kayō are reprising their roles of van Meowogh and his mouse companion Theo, respectively.

The anime will have over-the-air broadcasts (as opposed to just streaming and satellite or cable television).

Cocone launched the game on iOS and Android devices on December 18, 2017, and is now offering the game in English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Thai, and Vietnamese.

In addition to van Meowogh as van Gogh, the game has feline versions of Picasso, Gauguin, Dali, Hokusai, Monet, and other famous painters. The game's voice cast also includes Yūki Itagaki as Picasso, Ryou Tachibana as Gauguin and Dali, Yū Sōma as Kiki, Atsushi Maekawa as Monet, and Yūichi Nakamura as Holmes.
