Series premiere in January

Crunchyroll announced on Thursday that it will stream the Girly Air Force and The Price of Smiles anime as they air in Japan beginning in winter 2019.

Girly Air Force will premiere on Crunchyroll on January 10 at 11:30 a.m. EST worldwide outside of Asia.

The anime will premiere in Japan on AT-X on January 10 at 11:00 p.m., before airing later that evening on Tokyo MX, BS11, Sun TV, and AbemaTV.

Crunchyroll describes the series:

Mysterious flying creatures called Zai suddenly appear and overwhelm all of mankind's aerial combat forces. To fight them, mankind modifies existing aircraft frames to create mechanized soldiers called "Daughters," which are operated by automated piloting mechanisms called "Anima" that have the appearance of human girls. The story begins when Narutani Kei, a boy who yearns to take to the skies, encounters a shining red aircraft and its pilot, an Anima named Gripen who has been named mankind's trump card.

Katsumi Ono (Senki Zesshō Symphogear AXZ, G, and GX; Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's and Arc-V) is directing the series at Satelight, and Shingo Nagai (WorldEnd, New Game!) is overseeing the series scripts. Tōru Imanishi (WorldEnd, Ragnastrike Angels) is adapting Asagi Tōsaka's original character designs for animation, and Imanishi is also serving as chief animation director. Hiroyuki Taiga (Xenosaga: The Animation, Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere) is the mechanical designer and and combat supervisor. "I've Sound" is composing the music.

The Price of Smiles will premiere on Crunchyroll on January 4 at 11:00 a.m. EST. The stream will be available worldwide outside of Asia.

The anime premiere in Japan on WOWOW on January 4 at 9:30 p.m., and it will later begin airing on Tokyo MX, Yomiuri TV, AT-X, and J:COM TV. The anime will have 12 30-minute episodes.

Crunchyroll describes the story:

On a planet far, far away from Earth, there reigns a kingdom overflowing with smiles. Princess Yuki is twelve years old and beginning to ride the roller coaster of emotions that comes with adolescence. Each day brings with it tears, laughter, and even a little romance. The palace is full of fun, and the vassals who serve her there add color to her life. There's Layla the tutor, Izana the political adviser, Harold the Grand Master, and of course Joshua, her childhood friend and close aide.

Toshimasa Suzuki (Lagrange - The Flower of Rin-ne, Fafner: Heaven and Earth) is directing at Tatsunoko Productions, and Shinichi Inotsume (Hayate the Combat Butler, PERSONA 5 the Animation) is in charge of the series scripts. NOB-C (Musasino!, Urawa no Usagi-chan) is credited with the original character designs, as well as the original story concept with Hikaru Yuasa. Naoto Nakamura (Miss Monochrome assistant character design, High School Fleet) is designing the characters for animation. Dynamo Pictures is in charge of 3DCG.
