Kamigami no Asobi Franchise Gets 2nd Stage Play in April

posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Play stars Wataru Yoza, Ryō Tsuji as Norse mythological characters

The official website for the stage plays of Nippon Ichi Software and Broccoli's female-oriented dating simulation game Kamigami no Asobi revealed the main cast and two character visuals on December 21 for The Stage Kamigami no Asobi Hikari to Honoo no Yakusoku play.

The cast includes:

Wataru Yoza as Balder Hringhorni

Ryō Tsuji as Loki Laevatein

  • Akihira Matsumoto as Thoth Caduceus
  • Shō Arai as Tors Megingyorozu
  • Makoto Takata as Zeus Keraunos
  • Yūna Sekine as Yui Kusanagi

The play will be the franchise's second and focus on characters inspired by Norse mythology. The play will run at Shinjukumura Live (Shinjukumura Performing Theater) from April 13 to 21.

The franchise's first stage play, titled The Stage Kamigami no Asobi Taiyō to Meifu no Kibō, debuted in August 2017 and centered on Greek mythology.

The "Weaving of fates - Love is pain" adventure game for the PSP system launched in Japan in 2013. The story revolves around heroine Yui Kusanagi as she is ordered by Zeus, a god and the headmaster of a school he created, to teach the meaning of love to young and handsome gods. Zeus does this in order to cancel the negative effects of the weakening bond between the world of the divine and the world of the humans.

The Kamigami no Asobi - Ludere deorum television anime premiered in 2014, and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired. Sentai Filmworks released the anime on home video.

Moto Sumida also drew a manga adaptation for the franchise that ran in ASCII Media Works' Monthly Sylph magazine from 2011 to 2014.
