Love Live! Sunshine!! The School Idol Movie Over the Rainbow Anime Film's Insert Song Clip Streamed

Film opened in Japan on Friday

The official YouTube channel for the Love Live! anime franchise began streaming a new video on Friday to commemorate the release of the Love Live! Sunshine!! The School Idol Movie Over the Rainbow film. The video previews the film's insert song sequence, featuring the song "Hop? Stop? Nonstop!"

The YouTube channel is also streaming a static video that previews the separate insert songs "Bokura no Hashittekita Michi wa..." and "Next Sparkling!!" The single for the songs will ship on January 23.

The channel also streamed a 30-second promo video on Friday.

The film opened in Japan on Friday and it is an all-new work (as opposed to a compilation or recap film).

The Aqours group will go on a Love Live! Sunshine!! Aqours World Love Live! Asia Tour 2019 in Taipei on April 6 and 7, in Chiba's Makuhari Event Hall on April 13 and 14, and in Seoul on April 20 and 21. The group will then hold the Love Live! Sunshine!! Aqours 5th Live concerts on June 8 and 9 at the Metlife Dome in Saitama Prefecture.

[In the film's story, Uranohoshi Girls' High School's idol group Aquors has won the final Love Live! contest.] While preparing to enroll at a new school, the first- and second-year students encounter unexpected trouble. Also, after heading for a graduation trip, the third-year students go missing. As they are separated, the Aquors members appreciate the weight of their togetherness for the first time. In order to move forward, they must decide how to react to their new situations.

The television anime's cast and staff returned for the film.

The Love Live! Sunshine!! project was first announced in February 2015. The project's three key phrases are "Reader Participation," "Inspired by μ's," and "Seaside Town Setting." Fans chose the group's name Aqours by popular vote.

The first Love Live! Sunshine!! anime premiered in July 2016. The second season ran from October to December 2017.
